Differences in 2005-2009 mustang seats with the 2011 mustang
So I have been asked many questions asked about the differences in the seats of the new 2011 mustang with the 2005-2009. First off, the front seats are the same exact thing, the difference lies with the rear seats. The pictures below will illustrate and point out the biggest differences between the two. (This will be extremely helpful to those who are planning on buying leather seat covers from a 2011 mustang and installing it on a 2005-2009.)
Lets start out with this picture, the difference between the two:
Now if you were to install 2011 mustang rear seat covers on a 2005-2009 mustang, this is what you will be looking at:

I don't know why Ford even went with rear headrests, I am not very fond of those...
They must offer some extra protection for rear passengers in the event of a rear collision. That being said, they create a bit of a blind spot when left up. I normally leave mine folded down.
Maybe the extra HP snapping passenger's heads back
lol hahahahaah very true, I am more concerned with the bit of a blind spot it creates for the driver as LTDan pointed out, but its a good thing it also gives you the option to have them folded down
Here's mine. Keep in mind that it's been frigid cold here so the leather hasn't really gotten "broken in yet". I love them though, one of my favorite mods. And that smell...
Looks really good. I may have to get a set of these. I just don't understand why so many 2011 leather seat covers have come on the market. I guess maybe people are getting custom seats.

Thanks, I don't know either. They're quality seats but I guess a lot of people are going the custom route. The rears don't bother me either, it's just a tad loose at the top. Still one of my top 5 favorite mods.
Btw, there's a glare on them. They're all black with white stitching. I also did the install myself. Wasn't terrible, just hard on the fingers and time consuming
