Ok so I have a buddy that gave me his blown 4.6 out of his 06 mustang. And I thought as a project that I would rebuild it to not only learn more about my mustangs me and the wifey have two together. But also get the satisfaction of doing the work on my car myself! My plan is to strip it down to the block and stroke it out to a 5.0 and forged it out to eventually add a turbo charger that I already had for the motor I currently have in my car. But after doing my research adding the turbo to the current engine in the car I couldn't go above about 466hp to be on the safe side of not blowing the original motor. I'm just looking for help/advise from anyone that has done this and suggestions on which aftermarket parts to use.

I don't get it. You want to stroke the 4.6 to a 5.0 but it will only hold 466hp with a turbo?
Sounds fishy lol
huh? no that's not what i'm saying at all 466hp is all i can get stock out of the the motor. i have to forge the motor out to go higher. but since i have motor out anyways (my spare) i can stoke the 4.6 to a 5.0.
So your buddies motor is blown, as in broken rod/piston? You might want to tear it down first to see if it's even usable.
