I just ordered an 06 mustang on the Ford A/Z and I'm only saving about $2200 over the MSRP price. I was expecting something like $4000. I thought anyone could negociate that much on the price of some of the other Ford products without even using the employee discount....
What do you guys think?

RE: Ford A or Z plan buyers, How much did you save?
If you didn't get many options then you won't have as big of a difference
I got mine on X-Plan ....partner program it's .04% under invoice. MSRP on my 06 GT was about 31K and my price was under 28 ... that's about 3K plus or minus a few. The only option I don't have is an Auto Trans.

The Ford website shows invoice and MSRP. The invoice is real close to A plan. A dealer would get their tit in a wringer if they overcharged on A plan. Despite what they might tell you, they do well on these deals.

the dealer is required to show a document that specifies the official A/X/D plan price so there is no questions.
Ford gives the dealer an incentive to participate in the plans, the dealer gets money back on the sale of the vehicle. Dealerships don't have to participate. Ford does not offer incentives for all vehicles. ...Currently, the Mustang GT is not being backed by Ford so the dealer isn't getting the incentive.
Not all dealerships I talked with would sell me a GT on X plan. The dealership I got mine from did because they want to maintain thier strong reputation.

We use the X-plan and it saved us $2,000. Luckly my hubby found out about it from co workers when we had to wait a day for the v6 convert to come in to test drive after test driving a used v8 GT 05 coupe on the lot! So that extra day actually saved us money!
