So I was at the dealer getting my oil changed and was looking around, they had 3 saleens there. The one I looked was torch red and was $47,000. If I remember right they had one displayed a while back in the showroom and I don't remember a SC'er, just underdrive pulleys and maybe a CAI. So are you basically paying $20,000 for the body kit, 20's, underdrives, CAI, tune and the modded interior? If so that seems like a complete rip. Someone correct me if I"m wrong. Seems you could throw about $10k into a GT and get SC'er, rims, LCA's, CAI, custom tune, pulley's and gears and have a couple grand to spare for some visual mods.

Oh also they had a Saleen focus in the showroom that came stock with nitrous. Other than that it looked like the engine was the stock 150hp one, it had a body kit and the usual interior stuff but they wanted $27k for it. I was like what the hell you could get a new GT for that and it'd spank the dog **** outta the saleen focus. I guess if you wanted to be king of the rice.

Is because its a saleen. That's why it cost a lot. If the GT's had the same thing as the saleen does, if would of been less. Keyword SALEEN!

So basically your saying that you would pay $20,000 extra for a name? Seems like a waste to me. I am not impressed at all with the Saleens. Imagine the things you can do with $20,000. Hmmmm ( superchargers, suspension, wheels and tires and enough money left over for a night in Vegas)

I agree with you wholeheartedly, But you do pay for the name Saleen, just like you would paying for the name Roush or Calloway or Foose or whatever... People just like saying that they have a Saleen Mustang... Has a nice ring to it I think...

I am kind of a name ***** myself I wont lie... I prefer the name brand jeans to the $10 no frills jeans... sure they look the same but the name is just nicer

BTW - the focus just has badges... they do not really have N2O. At least the one here doesn't... the dealer said it came that way...

I am more of a do it my way guy. I'd rather have a car that directly reflects my taste and personality than a carbon copy car.

Well since im a saleen owner I might shead some light on this. Here is some key points why I bought it



---Well i paid 53k because I can (not being cocky, its a fact though)
----Not only do you get body kit, interior upgrade, exhaust, pullys,(mine has s/c) also remember the SUSPENSION is one of the best out there so that has alot to do with, saleen known for its handleing. Also 20" chrome onthere.
-----Saleen only makes 1000-1500 per year. How many Gt's are made????

------And those there is many more reasons the final one is this
If you are a straight male most things you do in life are for one and one reason only

DONT HATE!!!! Why pay 30k for a 06' gt because thats what you want and you more than likely afford.
