Default Anybody with the new Hurst 5-speed shifter

I'm thinking about getting the Hurst short throw shifter for my '05 GT. Anybody out there already have one? Also, trying to compare it to the Steeda Tri-ax, anybody got any opinions on the comparison of the two.

Yes, tons of info available via the "search" feature. Go to advanced search and select the V8 forum, there have been many posts there regarding Hurst shifters.

Since he says the "new" Hurst shifter I would assume he means the new billet comp plus shifter and in that case there isn't a lot of information about it. I am also interested in this shifter, but have yet to find anyone that has purchased it.

Last time I spoke to Hurst directly (three weeks ago), they were at least 120 days away from delivery. They are having problems procuring the different parts for it.

I just went ahead and got the original Hurst shifter after that conversation.

Here's the shifter I'm looking at. I'm not sure how long it's been around. Is this the one they're having problems with?

No, there are a lot of people on this forum with that shifter. Use the search feature, I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

I love my Hurst shifter and it looks great too! I had mine installed because I didn't have access to a lift and they said that the Steeda was terrible compared to my Hurst. The installer of mine said that he couldn't believe the difference and thought the Steeda was a waste of money in his opinion.

I love my Hurst overall, good luck with your choice!

1quickshortbus, is that the street scenes ducktail? If not does it cover the factory spoiler holes?

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I'll do a search. I searched for hurst posts before I posted, but nothing was returned. Although, I only searched in the 2005-2006 Mustang category within the last month.

I have that shifter. Bought it from that vender. Great investment. I can't believe what a difference the 1-2 shift did as far as speed. You would think the stock shift could at least go 1-2 without issues, but it is amazing...

On the install, I did have a little trouble getting it to turn the corner and go over the trans mount. I ended up loosening the mount a little bit. I think some shifters want you to take down the driveshaft though
