crosswinds cause instability at highway speeds

crosswinds cause instability at highway speeds
I don't know if any of you drive through windy spots, but whenever I hit a cross-wind at highway speeds, I have to fight the car to keep it straight. I was wondering if any of you that switched to larger rims/smaller sidewall tires or lowered your Mustangs see a decrease in the cars tendency to drift around in a crosswind.

I have not noticed a decrease it is still the same. The car is so effected bywind due to the aerodynamics that if a large truck or big rig comes up from behind me i can feel it push the car over a bit. My 97 Monte Carlo is even worse it is really effected by crosswinds.

Yes, a lower car does make a difference. Take an S281 Saleen. It is a lot less volnerable to crosswind effects that a stock gt. And in high crosswinds, it's huge.

I wonder how much of that is due to the smaller sidewalls and how much is due to the lowering?

With my stang in the shop, I drive around my 94 4Runner SR5.. It's like driving a tank. Crosswinds? Nope.. mostly because I can't build up enough momentum/speed so that aerodynamics can play any role.
With the stang, there is an certain area on the 57-S that goes down hill. All sorts of wind just kicks the car in every which direction. Nothing serious, but I can feel it. Also when the Santa Ana winds kick up.
