By the way the amount of weight added by chrome is minimal maybe 2-3lbs for all four wheels combined.

Richard

That is a quite a broad statement to make. All wheel makes and manufacturers are different. There are different qualities of rims, both in chrome and aluminum. Even if that statement was in fact accurate, that would be 2 - 3 lbs too many. Thank you.

I LOVE my polished 17" Bullits. They have more of a patina than the chrome wheels, which reminds me of the old Cragar S/S mags. I've run mine through the winter without problems. I keep them clean, and have yet to polish them.

If you are concerned about unsprung weight, check the Ford accessories website - I think both polished and chrome wheels are listed at the same weight.

I am well aware that all wheels are manufactured differently and I would be willing to bet that my 2-3 lbs is probably on the heavy side. It was not meant to mean every single wheel made. I mean come on now. Use a little common sense. Have you ever seen a chroem finish applied. I think you would be very suprised to find out that the chrome layer is actually paper thin in most cases.

FINAL WORD!!!

Get "chrome" and you will be happier in the long run...

The weight savings won't make that much of a difference...

Chrome wheels are so easy to clean up and always stay bright and shinny...

Even polished wheels (as much as you try to polish them) always look a little dull...

Comparing raw polished to chrome you are correct. But polished and cleared wheels like the bullits from ford are super easy to keep clean and do not loose their shine. Just keep car wax on them to keep the clear polished like you would the hood of a car. As long as the clear holds, you are good.
