A Strange Noise When Putting Your Mustang in Reverse

RE: A Strange Noise When Putting Your Mustang in Reverse
Mine doesn't clunk but tonight I noticed it makes a different noise. It makes a metal on metal sound like a rubberless brakepad would on a rotor. Sorry, I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. It only does it in reverse and I could only hear it when I was in the garage and the sounds were echoing. Anything to be concerened with?

Sorry to bring an old thread back but I searched and I'm having this same issue, has this been resolved?

My 2010 makes the noise to and I recently had the carrier bearings in the rear axle replaced under warranty. Due to what sounded like a hub noise. But the first couple weeks the noise was gone but its back but not has bad. Dealer said it was a wear part. A drag racer friend said that because a "friction modifier" is added to the diff fluid it should checked or serviced regularly.

Don't believe what most forums say though, the dealership will still laugh if you don't do your research good. :P
