If we could get pictures of the some of the items in question that swap between the two that would speed things up. Any one with a V6 or V8 and a camera?

The local junk yards around here with late model stuff don't let you go in the yard any more.

Pictures of the alterantor, fan module, A/C compressor, and power steering pump to start with.

Also a picture of the engine harness connection at the firewall.

I just purchased a factory service manual on DVD for the 2005 Mustang so I'll have a complete wiring diagram set to compare the harness's, vacuum lines etc. that we might be missing.

I might be able to get in the AutoAlliance plant (where the Mustang is built) to check some things out but I'm going to wait til I have a better handle on everything.

You could get a CS6 rear end from hillbank, they're 8.8 and will just swap in from what I understand.
I've been to there site but didn't see any axles. They are probably just using a V8 axle.

Moser has the 9" bare axle for $610 list. http://www.moserengineering.com/Page...ous-ford9.html

For alittle less than $600 Moser added 9" axles to my 8.8" fox axle (mounted ends and installed new axles). A hybrid 8.8" weighs less than a 9" & you can reuse your diff. I just checked and they have the parts for the 2005 up. http://www.moserengineering.com/Page...usingends.html

This is a good upgrade if you do any autocross or just never want that "C" clip to let loose on some freeway off ramp.

I'm kind of bored with "how-to peel the backing off of 3M tape" type threads.
No peel and stick in this thread.

So, if you have a 6'er as your only car and want to create a franken-GT, then the flaming is excessive but essentialy correct (not worth it)...

If you are planning tearing it down to the ground either way, then the question seems to me to have some merit.
This wouldn't be my only car, just something I could drive on nice summer days so I don't have to drive my truck everyday and allow me finish my 93' which will make it illegal on the street.

All that to save on insurance?

Beside even if you do get insured for a V6 and if the car is total guess what they only pay out for a V6.

Actually a buddy of mine told me just to add the two cylinders. He said thats a whole lot easier than finding a new engine.
LOL. I love it. So where exactly do you go to buy an extra 2 cylinders for a car? I might be interested in making my v8 a v10
