i am just wondering would i still spin with 18' drag radials?? what do you think my 60' would be? i am planning to rev up to 3k RPM and dump the clutch.. i am kinda worred about rear end.. what do u think.. a hard launch would mess up with my rear end?

P.S. i do not wanna get 17 or 16' wheels cuz i am just gonna go to track one time then im amk done for this year.. i just need opinions about 18' drag radials..

any help would be appriciated..

It's the TIRE that matters. Sure, the more rubber the better, but more importantly than 17" or 18" is going to be what DR you go with. Get MT ET Streets and you will be happy.

You would be hard pressed to hurt your rear end with DR's on the car. The whole point of DR's is even the best of them allow some sort of wheel spin as they engage. They don't have the superglue grab of slicks that would be dangerous for a stock rear end. Watch any video of DR's in action in slow motion and you will see a slight give even on outlaw cars. Even a 'slight' give takes tremendous pressure off the rear end that true slicks put on it.

The harder part is going to be to find a good DR for an 18" rim. I think the ET Streets come in 17" max. If you are only going to the track 1 time, my suggestion would be just borrow a set of rims/tires from your shop/friend for the night. If you don't know anyone with a set you could borrow, then I wouldn't sweat it for one time out anyway as even a GOOD SET alone are going to cost you at least $300.

thanks for the replies..

M/T does not have 18' tires.. as u said max 17' i found BFgood rich drag radials.. what do you think about that? which kind of 60' should i expect from those tires? nittos are like 180 bucks a piece i will see tomorrow..

so which one do you think gives the better traction.. NITTOs or BFGOOD RICHs??
