Let's see some pics caspy!
That's fantastic news man. I'm happy for ya.
And it does prove that my assertion that using the Ford factory cross member is actually correct.
If I wanted toblow280 bucks on one, I'd of proven it myself by now probably.
But I am waiting on Ford. I feel they are going to correct more thanjust that to handle things fully and terminatedly.
IF they don't,if they choke up and don't produce the expectedTSB, I'lldo it anyway after I give Ford so much shiz they'll stink to high heaven for decades! ;-[
So if I bought a cross-member, is it easy to install?
Would I need to drill holes and remove a bunch of parts to install it?
Or does it just bolt in?
Sorry, I have no clue, but if it's an easy bolt in I'll try it.
I found a factory one for $210 plus shipping.
Thanks,
RLS
Northy's right, it's a piece of cake to install.
Go for it.
Good luck!

Northy, I ordered that G-Trac brace also. Did you have to drill holes to mount or were there existing holes?

No drilling necessary. There are a plethora of holes and these are the two on the top side of the A-Arms. You [or your bro] just get under there, pop the bolts in, fasten the nuts tight, and that's it!!! Way too easy if you ask me. God I've spend more time under this car than Henry Ford himself. . . ahhh. . . er, wait. . . nevermind.

In my search I came across something I've seen before but ignored for some reason:

http://www.cheperformance.com/cartge...208&cid=15

This is sort of a "six point brace". I don't know of another like it. It utilizes the horizontal [the ones the Gtrac uses]AND two of the vertical holes [the ones the Ford brace uses] in the Kmember as well as attaching to the bellhousing [? is that what it's called?]. I'm going to do some more research and report back.
Wow! Vibro message while driving! Cool man ;-D
Not quite sure what you're getting at. . . oh, if I trade the "e" for an "a" I get massage. Is that what you're saying? Hey, no thunking andfree massage make Jonny happy boy!!!!!

DOH! Typo.
I meant massage. Yes, 6 point brace = engine vibration transmitted into body = vibro massage.
I personally wouldn't call that a fair trade even if the thunking was gone.
Why in the heck did Ford ever allow this problem to slip by?
Such a stupid thing to do! Darn thunking noise gets to me sometimes too but hey, I'm waiting until the end of the 2nd quarter if I have to before I start shooting people! ;-D

Actually could somebody just remind me what the Ford part number is for the brace? Great as this forum is, the search engine blows goats and you can't search within an existing thread [or i'm an idiot and can't figure it out].

Sorry for the delay. I had a long day at the o'l job. I posted the pictures in my photo gallery on this forum. I beleive you can just click on my name and on the gallery link it should take you there.
I installed the bar while on ramps.
The chips around the nuts are nothing special, just the primer and paint that peeled as I tighten the nuts.
The material used is 1 1/4 inch solid round stock. 27 1/4 inches in length
I cut both sides of the bar leaving a 3/4 tab for the mounting areas.
I cut back both ends 4 inches (being trimmed on both sides leaving the 3/4 tab area)
I clamped the bar in place and then marked the holes by spray painting through the holes.
It is very important to get the hole as true as possible. This will leave no play or movement.
Tighten and tighten and tighten. can't stress this enough.
This is one of the reasons for using grade 8 bolts. It will take a hell of allot to break grade 8.

The pictures are in my photo gallery, please let me know if they will not work.
I have driven my car now nearly all day and still NO noise.
Good luck fellow stangers!
I will be glad to help where ever I can.
