Removing rims for winter! Best place for jack stands!
I need advice from anyone willing to give it! I am removing my chrome rims for the winter. It gets nasty cold and wet here and it is totally unpredictable (weather). I was told that I could put the 2 rear jack stands on each side of the axle and the front two jack stands on the suspension components! What suspension component would be the best! I have had others say I shouldn't use suspension components and others that say it is fine? Some say I should jsut use the frame rails....if I used the frame rails the suspension will sag over time and that can hurt the suspension as well? So many opinions...so many different answers.
Any advice will be appreciated!!!!!!!![sm=insomnia.gif]

Why not just put the stock wheels back on it?
But to address your question, I have no idea where would be the best place to put jack stands for en extended period of time.

I would place them under the front control arms. I wouldn't want the front suspension hanging for extended periods either. Just make sure you put them in a good spot where they have plenty of contact. They fit nicely in about the middle of the control arm if I remember correctly.

definitely, positively, the car should rest on the suspension, and NOT on and part of the "frame." Any collector would tell you that.
And my suggestion would be to leave the wheels on; the weather directly attacking your wheels and tires is a heck of a lot better than the weather directly attacking the calipers, rotors, and hubs......
And, you will have much bigger headaches if something or somebody knocks your car off the jackstands while it sits outside.
