Your right Ford dose not control Saleen or dealer pricing, and even in a limited run (500 car run) $85k is a bit steep if you ask me. It IS the dealer marking it up that high though. Saleens MSRP on the car is just over $61k so yea a $24k mark up is a bit much, and honestly the highest I have seen one priced. If someone is interested in this I would say call around and see who will give you the best deal, and most Saleen dealers will ship the car to you if you end up going far out of the way.

How many PJones stangs is Saleen building? 100.....150. I know Chevy is building waay more ZO6's than that. The price is based on the limited production and the fact that some moron with too much money will buy one. BTW, Ford has nothing to due with the price of Saleen products.

it's not a real boss 302 it's most likely a parnelli jones cuz there's no way ford would just start leaking those cars out to dealers without letting it be known. Get some pics!

Supply and demand. When demand is high and supply is low then only those with the long money get to play. Can't fault the dealer for trying to make some money off the hot cars to offset the losses they have from all the dog trucks sitting on the lot.

So I was at Ford yesterday and seen a Boss 302 in the show room... orange and nice as hell. Had an intake very similar to the Roush rumble scoop (looked different), GTR mustang front bumper, headlamps were split like the GTR... only on stock headlamps not the projection, exhaust was something different then I ever seen. Dual exhaust but more retangular and rounded if that makes sence, interior was orange stitched over the charcol leather but the seats were also a new look, dash was signed as well. They wanted 85,000 for the car. I'll get pics tomorrow hopefully if my car is done.

Campbell Ford, Niles, MI for a little over $60K which included gas guzzler tax and carrier transport to my home.

I would guess the unusually high price this dealer is asking may be a product of the area it's located in. Perhaps they are surrounded by millionares with little concern of prices or getting the best deal. Or.......maybe the sales manager wants to buy it himself in a month or so and is only willing to part with it for an absurd amount like $85K.
