Had our smart box replaced after finding the trunk light wasn't working due to the box. I drove out of the dealership afterwards now with daytime lights. Am the only Mustang in the area with them on! I told the dealership about it but also said to leave it alone as I like having them sodidn't even try to turn them off. Didn't know about theremote window thing before but looks like I probably don't have them anymore due to the smart box change out but haven't tried it. And yes it turns out theres a new code number for this box. It was confusing the service guy when he was trying to check the parts number of the new box to the old box before installing it. I guess it was the easiest way for Ford to distinguish theold (defective?)one over the new one.

My '07doesn't have it.Also I have never seen any Mustangs in my area with that feature.

As far as the lights on while raining law in California, we have it here too. It's not a bad law, I just wished everyone would abide by it.

The only thing that would bother me about that, is not being able to have just my fog lamps on, I think that looks so mean!

I always turn my lights on in rain. It's common sense. Under normal daylight conditions, DRL aren't necessary IMO. It's just more pussification for the personally irresponsible.

Sorry about not answering questions before. I've been busy and away from the forum. Can the dealer re-install the window feature when they fix the drl's or is this feature lost forever? It sucks that my car was not having problems with this option and now I lose it. Thanks for all the help on this.

I personally would rather have them on in my car, because California's got this crazy law now that if you're driving your car and it's raining enough to where you have to turn on your windshield wipers, you need to turn on your headlights. With DRLs, I never have to worry about getting stopped for that. It's stupid, but my dad got stopped for it the other day in his Jaguar, and the cop let him off with just a warning, but it's now required. Stupid law, I know, but...
This is NOT a stupid law. It protects the more intelligent drivers that already have their lights on when it's raining.
I feel the same way, i like to see people or people see me when it's raining. It's a law here but alot of people don't do it.

But the same idiots not putting on their lights when it's raining are the same idiots not turning on their lights when it's dark out and riding with only the DRL's. You fix one problem and cause another. That makes no since.
