Hey "Mattblasi",
Once agian , sorry if I had a case of tunnel-vision on "The Drift" because we all love the sound
of high RPM's and the smell of burnin' tires. My post made me think about "back-in-the-day",
when the first thing I did to my '72 hardtop was air-shocks to the point where all you could see out the
back window was the moon, and a good ol' "Cherry Bomb" for the exhaust !! LOL
If we all liked the same thing there would no 'nilla and all choclate!!
P.S. take care of that car , SHE IS A BEAUT !!!!!

I prefer auto cross and road racing and the techique of drifting has always been of interest to me. The reason immature straight liners call it rice is due to the fact their small brains only think the fast and the furious tokyo drift, I am a hell of a driver and I would be hard pressed to do that with out a lot of practice. I have raced dirt, as well as asphault, I have drag raced (the most boring of all) and now I find my calling in Autocross and roadracing and have been there for several years. It takes a lot more talent to do something like this then it does to hold the wheel straight, punch it and maybe shift if you have a stick.

BTW matt... I think your car is rice...lol Just kidding, having seen it in person, that thing is f-n sweet.

Drifting is not rice.....but every car i saw in that video was rice...
any car, no matter how fast, that is that low and sounds like that is rice IMO....they sound like a hive of bumble bees having an orgy....
and they are so low that they cannot even be driven over a pencil.....

now can i do it? no i cannot....
is it hard...hell yes....
are 98% of "drifters" ricers? hell yes...

ORIGINAL: bodyputtyless

This is the sort of thing you do when you own cars that "can't". Its sort of like your afraid to play baseball so you invent whiffle ball. Or you don't have the nerve to race cars so you race riding lawn mowers. I can see it now. "Welcome to the 2013 Import parallel parking competition sponsored by Nextel"
[sm=funnypostabove.gif][sm=exactly.gif]+1 Maybe I'm just old, I dunno but I tried watching and "getting" it but it was boring, but to each his own.
