Default New GT/CS stik or automatic?

Trying to decide between a stick and an automatic on a new GT/CS... Have a stick now and love it, but auto also appeals to me. Dealer wont give me as good a deal on the stik because he has to dealer trade for it. Opinions and input invited......

Are you going to keep this stang or trade it in for the GT/CS? If you are get the stick, if not get the auto.

It was a no brainer for me. I got an automatic because this is my daily driver, and I drive in stop and go traffic every day.

My boss is thinking about getting a Mustang, and he was arguing with his wife about stick or auto. He wanted stick, she didn't. But when he rode with me and saw how smooth the auto shifts, he realized that he could be happy with the automatic.

Another thing to consider. If you're a good driver, then you can beat an automatic with a stick. But if you're not, you can't.

I guess it's all dependent on your "needs".

+1...my DD is a stick for economical reasons, but I don't mind changing gears

Mine's auto. No complaints here. I actually wanted a manual, but the GT/CS is rare enough around here and it had the equipment I wanted otherwise.

Why don't you do a test drive on the auto? I have auto and like it but, don'y use it for a DD.
If you're going for race/performance then manual.

If you plan to mod the car with a S/C, then get the stick. If not then the auto. I'm on my third toqure converter now and it just want bad. S/C is too hard at low end for the auto.

I have owned manual's with 5 out of the 6 vehicles ive owned. My 06' GT is no exception, I prefer a manual, the car is my DD and I wouldnt have it any other way. I feel very connected to the car with the manual, auto just wouldnt do it for me.

same here... I feel more in control of the car and don't get lazy just hitting the gas (auto). I have always owned a stick but really it is personal preference.

Stick with the stick! if you're used to drive stick and love it my guess is that you will be bored and frustrated by the auto. The auto tranny also robs more hp.

I test drove an auto originally because that's all the dealer had, and the car was a dog IMHO. I waited a few weeks and got a manual and it's a blast, night and day, and it's not even tuned yet :-) (just got it a couple of days ago)
