Default Bad News From Ford On Thunking Noise

Hi, Was just at the dealer and the Tech. Rep. finally returned the call after 2 weeks to inform that Ford is not, Repeat, IS NOT coming out with a fix for the Thunking Noise in our front end suspension. My service manager explained how there was many these forums complaining about this issue, and the techrep only said I'll let Ford know. The techrep told her to tell me "It's a normal characteristic of the car". In my opinion this is unacceptable. I sent out a complaint letter to Ford Board of Directors this morning 2/23/07. I'll let you guys/girls know what response I get.

I don't have a thunk, and I hope I don't get one. (I think)

It's on small bumps/deviations in road under 35mph. Hit a frost heave or pothole and you think something is going to fall apart. You guys that live on smooth roads, concider yourself lucky. Or go find a bumpy backroad to hear it yourselves.

I get it while turning left going over a speed bump at slowly. I hear that with some aftermarket suspention parts it removes this noise.

Roush, Saleen, Shelby cars and or cars with parts do not have this noise from what I read.
Including the Shelby Hertz GT-H, I rented one last month.

The driveshaft causes a lot of clunking.

My road is as rough as they come (dirt) and I can't hear any clunking from the front, all the rattles coming from the rear must drown it out. Lots of stuff makes noise in the rear, including the springs, bumper cover, impact bumpers under the bumper cover, the spare tire cover, plastic trunk latch cover, etc. I could spend a week tightening up all the things that shake in the back of this car, believe me I have.

You guys should consider yourselves lucky to have the luxury of driving on pavement.
