Default Install time on LCA's and Uca's?

I am planning on installing my upper and lower control arms along with relocation brackets this weekend. For those of you who have done this already how difficult was the install and how long did it take? Thanks -Andrew

The upper can be a pain because of where it's at. Took me a couple hours for the upper.

The lowers are easy and shouldn't take more than an hour. The relocation brackets are pretty simple install if the bolt holes line up for you, mine did with my Che brackets.

I'd plan on 5 hours and hope to be done in 3.

You gonna have the relocation brackets welded in??? I know CrazyAl recommended that, but I hate the thought of somebody welding anything to my car. . . I apologize I don't know how long it will take. . I'm hoping you'll tell me cause I'm gonna do exactly the same thing in the next few months!!!

I will give you some advice that got me when I did mine this weekend....

1) Remember righty tighty---lefty loosy (long story, but because I was sitting outside the wheel and undoing the bolt, I was thinking backwards....it was a pain and then I really felt like a dumbass)

2) Don't tighten the LCA brackets before you try to put the control arm into it...it will make it too tight to fit...get the bracket on and held into place (go ahead and torque the panhard bolt) then put the LCA in....torque the bracketdown...then at ride height tighten the LCA...it will make your life easier...also....

3) support the axle...I didn't do it well and it moved making it a biotch to pull back in.....

I think I am one of the few that had a really bad install time with it...so I hope it goes bette for you than it did me!!!!!

If I lower my car I want to get the adjustable LCAs. Maybe I'll get them anyway to improve my launches. If they are adjustable why are the relocation brackets neccesary? I never understood this and have not heard an explanation. Anybody?

Thanks.

What are the relocation brackets for? Aren't the LCA's a direct replacement for the stock ones?

The adjustments on the LCAs themselves and the Relocation brackets are two totally different things.

Adjustable LCAs are for adjusting pinion angle.

LCA Relocation brackets are for adjusting control arm angle (instant center)..

Al to the rescue again. Thanks.

One more clarification Al, if you please. When you say "instant center" do you mean the axle from side to side? If so then does that mean an adjustible Panhard rod is not necessary?

Thanks again!

CrazyAl, I bought the upper and lower control arms. If the lower control arms are for adjusting the pinion angle then what is the upper control arm for? Thanks -Andrew

No what he means is that your control arms from the factory are horizontal and once you lower your car they turn a little bit diagonal. So you will need the relocation bracket to make them horizontal or a little bit more aggressive for traction. You will still need the adj. panhard to center the wheels.
