GT500 clone

RE: GT500 clone
Yeah, but a stock Corvette would still be a lot more money than a "budget tuned" 6 or 8, depending on how much you pay for your parts, it seems. To me, it gets toa point where if your car costs so much more than mine, you were supposed to win anyway...

Gee...4500 to 6 grand for a supercharger on that V6...NOT, but a Cloned Shelby crate engine and drive train dropped in it and you got one hell of a clone plus it would cost less than trying to bid on a real one!

RE: GT500 clone
I've been able to find a procharger for $3500, just have to see how much installation will be. I would definitely not want to pose as a GT500, I just like the body panels, and I'd be interested in having the dealership orders those for me with the money they take off the car I've negociated. I was just real surprised that there was a dealership that did this unsolicited, almost like they had the spare parts lying around, and just decided to slap them on the cheapest car they had, so they could mark it up as high as it would go for...

That's the name of the game! Man, I'm burning out trying to use the dealer inventory checker to find a car I can live with before the orders come in around mid June...I did find a better way than how I was doing it at first. Before, I was using the link from the Mustang page on the Ford website, and it would only pull up about 5 dealers at a time. Now, I've started to use the dealer locator on the front page, and it pulls up 5 pages worth of dealers, some whose inventory I couldn't check using the other way. It might sound bad, but I don't trust the dealer to look for me, because they may just not be interested in going to get the car if it's "too far" for them. If I find it myself, and show my willingness to go where it is to make the deal, maybe they'll be more accomodating...
Here's the link to what I've started to use, just in case anyone else is out there hunting as well:

I type in the city and state, instead of the zip code, seems to be more streamlined that way.
