Rear Gear Change

RE: Rear Gear Change
I was quoted just under $900 by the dealer where I have everything done.
He will use the FRPP 4.10's like I want, and will guarantee them, and assured me there would be no warranty issues.
Also promised not to flash my computer.
This price is high I know, but the peace of mind of knowing everything is guaranteed just about makes it worth it.

RE: Rear Gear Change
Yes, but if the dealer does it then there goes my custom tune, and my diablosport won't re-load it.
I guess I could reset my stock tune, then have the dealer flash it, but then again, I'll no longer have a custom tune.
Nope, the plan is to have a new tune sent from Diablosport to compensate for the gears.

RE: Rear Gear Change
You can't change the gear ratio yourself when you reload your custom tune? That's how I do it with my sct tuner.
Oh, $900 just for labor/fluids is ****ing insane. If that included gears and bearings, etc, then maybe just a little crazy.

RE: Rear Gear Change
My understanding is that the diablosport doesn't have that feature, but that may just be on select models.
I'm still waiting for a reply.

I paid 185 CASH with no receipt. The shop owner worked on rear ends for FORD for several years. If you're in GA, I have the place.
I would recommend FRPP gears and RP lube as well. Depending on mileage, you may need a whole new rebuild kit as well. I think they're around $125.
Like above stated buy your own parts and get the labor rate. Max I would pay is $350 and Min should be around $180.
I had a manual and loved the 3.73 for my 50/50 street/highway driving. Also, I installed 3.73s in my 99 and loved them.
