OK, I have a question for all... I was gonna change out my velcro chit to moleskin. Looking at my channel, I noticed that I dont have ANYTHING on that wiper part...??? Thought there was supposed to be some velcro of some sort. Ido have some velcro for the outside part of the window. Did my car get left out when they installed the velcro???

Mine seems the same way. But i do notice lines in my windows that wipe off.

Thanks Bill! I just got my moleskin in the mail and they've got some of your pictures and explanations in the instructions that they supplied. They know you do good work...like we've known for awhile.

One last question. Here in VA the legal tint is 50% front sides and 35% rear. Is it even worth getting this done? Not sure how it will look.

Wow! 50%!?!? I think its 35% all around here in IN, but I've got 15% cause they don't really enforce it, and I think anything lighter than 15% would be a waste of money...I know people with 5%, but its hard to see out at night (i think that's a safety issue).

If you're only willing to get 35% because they enforce it or whatever, I'd go to Z-bart or somewhere that has all the UV protector in the tint to at least keep the heat and sun damage out.

awesome write up. Just to give everyone a head's up, i found this supplier of moleskin for MUCH cheaper. i know most folks have used the tintprotector kits for like $30, but this site has the same stuff for $5 shipped to your door. you get a 10ft roll. so far it's held up nicely!!

Tint Protector uses quality moleskin while the $5 stuff above is the generic moleskin felt.

Tint Protector moleskin will last years and years where the generic stuff comes off in the heat of the summer and leaves glue all over your tint.

They are also having their summer sale now.

It's not the same stuff Tint Protector offers. It's the generic Moleskin that comes off and leaves glue all over your tint.

Tint Protector Makes their own moleskin. The Generic stuff above makes more work for you in the end.

I'm in Va and I did 35% sides and rear 2 1/2 years ago and I haven't been harrassed. It's worth it.

I do know that the Moleskin from TintProtector.com uses automotive grade moleskin and adhesiveversus the generic ones.

I have recieved PM's from afew members telling me that they were not happy with the 'bulk' moleskins (discoloring or loosing adhesion over time)and they were going to make the switch over to TintProtectors.

Just throwing it out there, of course ymmv.

Can 05-07 cars just buy the new weatherstripping for the 2008 mustangs?

I already bought the moleskin and plan to install it this weekend, but for future reference we should be able to avoid the moleskin install all together and replace the piece with an 08 part?

For people who have installed the moleskin can is there a way to disable the roll-down / roll up that the windows do when you open and close the door?

You can buy the 08 window trim from your dealership or online and they will work in all 05 and up Mustangs. I don't believe you can disable the window drop when you open the doors. Besides if you did it would make it difficult to open and close the doors.
