I can't believe some of you guys complain about these little things. If you want stupid little creature comforts like a light in the glovebox maybe a Mustang isn't the right car for you. Trade it in on a used BMW and you'll have your glovebox light.

You have the sweetest looking, most bang for your buck car being made today, and you are upset because you can't see to find your condoms?
Buy one of those stick on lights off of late night TV and call it a day.

People arent griping, they are just making a point. Jeez some of you are over reacting about us " complaining ". We are not "complaining" we are just simply wondering why the older generation mustangs dated back to the 80's have some of these things yet the new ones dont. I dont understand where you get that we are bitching and moaning and wanting a higher class car and blah blah blah. You guys are putting more words in our mouths then my girlfriend does when i tell her the gym is healthy. Seriously, no one is complaining and no one wants a damn BMW, just wondering whats so different in the new cars that they dont get some of these basic (and yes they are basic these days) extra's in our cars.

What a bunch of whiners.
You should go buy an Infiniti or BMW if you want all those bells and whistles.
Seriously, if you are thinking that way you should own one of those cars!
Nobody forced you to buy that Mustang - did you bother to look at it before buying?
I owned lots of 60s muscle cars from lots of auto makers, some just had a bench seat and no air conditioning, no power steering, no power brakes.
Muscle cars are not luxury cars.......

Never been in my car without the fob.
A trunk release is an un-necessary item reserved for soccer moms.

It was very difficult to offer an aluminum V8 performance car for a$25k base price. No one else does. They can do it because they don't toss in miscelaneous extras, such aslots of lighting. It would be fine to offer every whizz bang luxury in theoptions list. But the base car is perfectly equiped. Otherwise it would cost $30k.

The only extra I want is a vanity light for the passenger, and I'll add that myself.

I know the feeling! You buy a quality car, and they can't even put a light in the glove box! The trunk light on my '09 GT finally burned out, and when it did work, it only put light directly below it, and not the rest of the trunk. instead of replacing the bulb, I went to Walmart and picked up an adhesive LED light strip (2 strips actually in the package) from their automotive department, and a buddy of mine and I tapped into the hot wire for the trunk light, and bam!! That trunk has never been so bright!

You didn't buy a quality car, you bought a Mustang which isn't in Ford's "quality line-up" if Ford even actually has one.

Nice idea on the trunk light

What really annoys me is those Alfred Neumann side mirrors on the car that stick out and get in the way in the garage. In Japan, all the cars have power folding mirrors; the mirrors on my 2000 Honda Accord (which I use as a daily driver) at least can be folded manually. Does anybody make aftermarket mirrors for the 2011+ Stangs that fold?

My Honda also has lights at the bottom of the doors that go on when you open it. And oh, the flip down mirror on the sunvisor has two lights, not one.

The problem with lack of a key trunk release is if your battery dies. There is no way to open the trunk. You would have to bring down the rear seats and crawl in there. What for? I keep one of those battery jump starters in my car all the time, for when the alternator fails. I have to store it behind the front seats. If I put it in the trunk, I'd have to crawl back there.

Muscle cars are not luxury cars.......
There's a cheaper way to do this . While looking for a cheap used car to use as a daily driver, I picked up a 2000 Honda Accord EX for $3300. The EX is the deluxe model of the car, loaded to the gills. It has power sunroof and seats, and Nappa leather interior (not bonded leather like my 2013 GT Premium). Has all the doodads and extra lights and ergonomic niceties, e.g., digital temp control, telescoping sun visors, retractable sunglasses holder in the ceiling. When I took the car in for service I checked the current price of a loaded EX Honda Accord V-6: $38,000! Hell, that is more than I paid for my 2013 GT Premium with Track Pack/Recaros AND the 2000 Accord!

Plus the ole Accord has a 200 hp 3.0 liter V-6, which is close to what my '86 5.0 liter Fox body used to put out. Smooth, quiet, and torquey. I always say I have the best of both worlds. Don't have to worry about this car getting dented and dinged in the parking lot also. And oh, there's not a spot of rust on this car, and I live in Hawaii! Do I hope to say the same for my 'Stang 14 years from now? Well . . .
