Default SCT + Economy mode = 27mpg.

I changed my tune from "normal" & 93 octane to "economy" and 87 octane just for an experiment. Driving with the cruise on between 65-70mph normal gets 25.5mpg and economy gets 27.1mph average.

I was surprised. Its back to 93 & Normal now.

NICE!

Did you have to order that tune?

I drove it about 15 miles on the interstate both ways. I know its not scientific but I usually get a combined cty/hwy 20mpg.

It was just one of settings availble in my tuner that came with my JLT2 cai.

I dont have a photoalbum.

way to go! It's nice seeing someone being socially responsible and getting good mileage (not using too much Arab Juice) when commuting, while also being able to turn your car into a street demon! I'm still waiting for a hybrid so I can stop using gas while waiting in traffic. Until them the economy tune setting might help seel a lot of those tuners.
Any other tuners offer that?

I couldn't stand the sluggishness when I had it set to economy, there was a definate difference. I don't understand people that buy V8's then spend the rest of the time worring about the gas milage. I did this just to see if the economy tune was a placebo. I bought a mustang GT and the gas milage that comes with it.

My new truck gets 11mpg which makes the GT seem like a civic mpg-wise.

+100!!!

However...I just installed 4.10's and will be going on a cruise to Montauk in a month (2 1/2 hrs each way on the highway...) would be nice to get better mileage on a long trip...

Where can you change the setting in the sct???

how quickly can you change the tunes? as mentioned in the previous post, for long road trips would it be worth it to switch to an "economy" tune?

Some folks like to have their cake and eat it too. I get to do that with my 29 mpg. Bone stock and loving it!
