Default Thinking about a '05 GT

Hi Y'all - I drive a 5 series BMW - E34 1990....Frankly I'm kinda sick and tired of the high costs to mode it.....I "think" an north american car is ALOT cheaper and I can't wait to see the body kit from "cervinis" to come out cause I fell inlove with ELENOR when the movie came out...Anyways to make a long story short I am thinking about getting the GT...I want to wait for a bit - maybe a year or so....are there any other X-beemer owners here? I know they are two completely differant cars.......a few questions..

- Who has had a Beemer or import before? How would you compare?
- I perfer the longer rear lights on the concept '05 and ELENOR, do you see these coming out?
- Are the performance improvement prices "cheaper" than a BMW - I mean realisticly moding is never really cheap..
- I don't like the new steering wheel - has anyone every changed it?

BTW - I know I might get flamed cause this is a mustang forum but here is a pic of my beemer...

man i like the looks of your car.

anyway, i'm hearing that the 05 kinda seems like they were shooting for a european car feel. the shifter, the handling, everything is completely not traditional mustang. take that for what its worth, but the best way to judge if you like it is to go test drive one.

i would say that w/ american muscle u can get the best bang for your buck. They are meant to race and perform and not meant for luggery like a BMW. U can definitely get more hp for your dollar cuz thats what stangs are known for. Also many many more performance parts are avavilbe for a stang over any BMW even the M3 alsoa at good prices. But def. test drive one and see how u like it.

This car has such a broad appeal for everyone, its amazing . I mean I'm not even a mustang guy (chevy guy when I was young) but I like the new look so much that I'v considered tradeing my 350z for one. Plus the fact that I miss the the V8 rumble (owned a 00 Z28).
Secretly I'v always admired the Mustang, the easy modability, and that great sounding 5.0. However, I never cared for the body style (like the Camaro was a looker) and that kept me from buying one. This kind of thinking must **** off some of the Fox body purists, Ford comes out with a great retro look and suddenly everybody wants one, me included.
