The only interest Shelby has in Ford these days is to shake hands andcashtheir cheques.

U R correct, so...... What's your point ?
I find it interesting that Shelby could influence Ford to change the 2007 design and production line so Shelby could have the engine, suspension and subframe improvments he wanted. I believe it is a very positive thing that Shelby’s design team ideas are on all 2007s.
Shelby has nothing to do with the GT500, it's only his last name that is on the vehicle. It is my understanding that the GT500 is built on the Ford assembly line and is a regular production car. The only car that sees a Shelby employee is the Shelby GT.

They had to build up the front, for theadditional engine weight of the 5.4 SC engine, it must have been cheaper to make a complete change, than just to the GT 500's. Has anyone said that standard GT's benefit from this added structure?

I also heard they revamped the 07's due to the GT500. Maybe the improved steering preciseness is due to the added frame/strut tower stiffness???

Whatever the case, I LOVE my 07!

Also, In driving the 05s, I found them to be much louder, almost like driving the 07 with a window down, whereas the 07 seemed almost as quiet as the coupe. Anyone know if there were any sound-deadening changes, or do the cars just become that loud and rattly that quickly ?

thanks! Mike Nassour / Austin
Not sure if i was being fed a line but my salesman told me that Ford made significant improvements to the 07 vert top. I've never driven any other than my 07 so I wouldn't know.

Am I sensing some '07 envy?

If our '07 stangs had come with superchargers, the same ones in here saying "so what! it's extra weight!" would be saying "oh, but it's not a good supercharger...I can get a better one". ...Ok, maybe not, but give the guy a break! He just asked a simple question. No need for the stinky attitudes.
