Just installed my new kenwood DDX616 up to my new kicker1000 watt amp with your method, having never installed an amp before. You made my install that much easier, so I thank you for making this thread. All my buddies kept telling me to just take it to best buy and have them do it for a 100 dollar loss, but then i found your thread and made it look like i could do it myself. Thanks again.

does anyone know if these wire colors correlate to the 10-11 model or what would have to be changed to run an all new amp and sub on a complete factory system ( no shaker)

I had a Shaker 1000 put in my 05 GT. It was wrecked, but the system survived. I now have a 2010 GT with just a stock Shaker 500. It is possible to use the 1000 watt system in the new pony? I've been told no by the dealership because the plugs have changed, but that's seems wrong. Can anyone advise? I miss my 1000 watts and obnoxious bumping.

you can look up the wirring diagram, make your own harness, use a line level converter, make your own signal cables and get it all to work, but honestly at that point you would be better off just getting some aftermarket stuff and making your own enclosure.

ok, so if you have a base system, I've been told that you cannot connect a line out converter to the rear speakers because they don't receive the low frequency's that is required for the bass to respond. any thoughts?

every car is different but many cars radios do not pass the lowest of ranged sound to mid and high speakers. This is to protect the full range speaker from being blown by someone just turning the bass all the way up.

You can always connect a converter, it just may not produce the desired effect.

I woud recommend HiFi connections for your Sub enclosure. They have a box made for Mustangs and cost $85. I would rcommend tightening led bolts when connecting terminals. I decided to break the mold from icker and Apine and go with (2) Polk 12" 720watt and the PA660 Amp.

This post was GREAT!!! I just finish installing a sony 780watt amp along with 2 12" sony xplodes and I did it all using this blog for a step by step walk through. The only thing I did different was to add a kill switch on the remote wire. This was the first install I did on my own and with the instructions provided even I didn't screw it up I can't thank you enough!

Now I have some low end bass to balance out the shaker 500!! wooohooo!!
