My 14 v6 has 19k on it..just got it in august. It has always had a notchy engagement. It doesn't go in gear smooth.Trans cold or warmed up, it is consistant mostly 1st and second, upshifting/downshifting. not smooth at all.. no grinding. downshifting from other gears is also like you are fighting al lil.
drove others and most have been smooth as a babies butt. Its still under power train from ford.. I was hoping changing the gear oil to the Purple Syncromax fluid from American muscle would help. no difference.. just curious if anyone can give me some insite?
. Its making the car hard to enjoy to drive. never knowing how its gonna act....

Could be the previous owner learned to drive stick in that car and ground 1st gear a few times.

If it's still under warranty, let ford look at it before doing anything else... It could be as simple as a stretched shifter cable that needs adjusting/replacing to a bad syncro which would mean a tranny replacement.

Thanks derf.. Im kinda thinking the same thing..I looked on American muscle and they don't have as I see a metal cable.. understand stock 1 is plastic
