Default Need Input on CAI

Looking to purchase a CAI for the stang. I have narrowed it down to 3 intakes. The BBK system, C&L Standard or the C&L Racer setups.

Anyone with these intakes have any pros & cons for them? (fit, seal of the cold air box, ect) I know the C&L Racer setup is a bit of over kill for my stock mustang but it has a plastic tube and I'm thinking it would not soak up as much heat as the metal intake pipes? My stang is a weekend driver and I do alot of backroads running and interstate cruising so heat soak is a factor under the hood? Any thoughts & comments for longtime owners will be a big help. I want to do this once and right.

Thanks in advance.

you really cant go wrong with any of the C&L setups, I would personally go with the racer.

Call doug at B amachips and talk about it, he is really helpful in this topic and you will hang up with a big in your face.

btw, IF you are going to buy a CAI + tune, buy it from him.... trust me

www.b amachips.com take out the space in there.

I just installed a C&L Racer on Sunday...

from Brenspeed w/ 93 tune..

Forget BBK..garbage...With that i am very happy.. My car is Stock Motor wise..i feel i lost a little Torque Down Low
but after 3000 rpm the car flies..i just called Brent and he sugeested my next Mod to underdrive pullies..

Spend the extra bucks and do it right the first time..

NJBLK07GT,

We recommend the C&L Racer Intake due to the larger inlet tube and quality fit and finish provided with this set-up.

We are a site sponsor here on MF and we believe the C&L Racer is the best intake currently on the market. If you would like more information on an intake and tuner package feel free to send a PM or give us a call at (321) 206-9369.

You will not run into any heat issues while running an aftermarket intake.

Another great feature the C&L Racer holds is the option to upgrade. If you ever add any future mods you will already have the bigger inlet tube providing more airflow than the C&L Street and BBK.

The C&L Racer is no better than the regular C&L. The larger size does nothing for your car, and the C&L website says so. They claim if you add F/I later the larger diameter helps....but who runs a regular CAI on a Supercharger? I dunno maybe it's possible but I would just use whatever comes with the Supercharger.

The JLT is the one I chose because it's cheaper, plastic, and claims about a 30 RWHP gain.

Same here.
And the inlet tube is painted a nice, purty black for no extra charge.
I'm just hoping that it (and the xcal I ordered) come in this week.[sm=sigh.gif]
