Default Paint job price.

How much would a new paint job cost. I want to paint my whole mustang a different color. like a grabber orange or a lime green or something. i was wondering how much on a average would those cost. will a new paint job look like it is kinda off, or will it look close to factory.

You need to consider that to make it look right, all the inside stuff would need to be done, you would damn near have to pull the motor to paintthe compartment correctly, the doors, trunk etc. You would be better off trading for the color you want, even if you take a hit, because to repaint your car correctly you're looking at $3-$4K[sm=badidea.gif][sm=forgetit.gif]

you could go with maaco... but your gonna get what you pay for... i am guessin a few thousand... cause everything will have to be taken apart... firewall, underhood, door jams... inside of the firewal... that is a lot of prep... id say take off your mods and trade it in on a new one...

A GOOD paint job inside and out are going to cost about 4 to6$Grand.If you pull everything including carpet. I would trade for the color I wanted and work with that.

If you're going to go through the expense of repainting your car a different color then do a custom color.

Don't do it.
There is only one right way to paint a car and thats to to take it down all the way to the metal.
Most place won't do that, to much work.
Then you have to do the door jams, under the hood, take all the glass out, all the modelings etc...

I did my 91 GT and it came out to $4750 to go from green on grey to all red....and it didn't even look all that great.
If you want a real paint job your lookin at $6 to do it right...and even then it will be nothing but a headache.

Not worth it. Go buy the color you want. At least $5k for a good one.

I would suggest doing a second color on the car, keep the original color showing on half the car so you won't have to paint the engine bay and door jams. Two tone would be way cheaper than a complete different color.
