Default Where to get a Limited Slip?

I'm having a hard time locating a limited slip for my car, also how good is it of an idea to get one?

06 v6 Pony for the record. Don't they have these as take-off parts anyway?

How will it affect the car?

Thanks, so this is the limited slip I'm guessing, how does this compare to the aftermarket ones?

Question is, do you want to change the entire rearend assembly to a GT takeoff 8.8"? Or do you want to add a limited-slip diff to your existing 7.5" rearend? Putting a limited-slip in your existing housing(parts, labor and ring/gear change) would probably be around a grand. Changing to a takeoff 8.8"(if you do the change over yourself) would maybe save a few bucks and add strength at the same time.
You'll notice the difference after the change the first time you race at the track(or go around a corner while still on the throttle).
Get the 8.8" take-off, no brainer, good luck!

I've had a couple friends with 05+ V6s buy the 8.8s from Newtakeoff.com. Its made a huge differance, I highly reccomend it.

I can see your point, but how much weight will the 8.8 takeoff add? I'm rather fond of how light the v6 is. I was hoping for a part that's under $500 that I could put on myself, and was unaware the axels themselves were different.

If it's a significant investment I don't see how it's worth the price, over say a locking torque converter. ($700)

Considering I'm getting a supercharger this New Year, though it may be a good investment, the v6 rear axel is weak and now that I'm aware of that.

Thoughts? Would you take the overpriced 8.8 rear end over a Locking Torque Converter?

It'll add weight where it's most effective(over the rear tires to help weight distribution) and will be able to cope with your future mods. A tuner to tune the trans shift points in conjunction with the 8.8" lsd will give you the most bang for your buck(for a daily driver). If you're a serious drag racer and ultimate good #s are what you're after, then anafter market performance T/C would be a necessity. A takeoff GT diff(stronger 31 spline axles, 8.8" traction-lok lsd) is a better choice as a first mod if you're planning to add F.I. next year than just changing the T/C and keeping the peg leg 7.5" stocker.IMO

Ok I'm going to assume that you don't need to set preload on a 8.8 takeoff. How easy is one to install? Or would it be better to have a shop do it?
