Local Car Show Was a Waste Of Time!
What a bummer! I just finished installing my K&N Typhoon intake so i was in the mood to show it off. I decided to enter my Mustang in the local 4th of july car show. The last car show i had entered was this very same show, 7 years ago, back in 2000 with my 1991 Firebird. I took third place back in 2000 out of about 35 very nice cars. This time around was a very different story
Now, dont get me wrong, i did not expect to clean house and take first place or anything, but out of the 35 or so cars that were there, i was sure i would at very least get into the top 20.
Now i dont mean to slam anyones taste in cars. Everyone likes different types of cars. There were many, many ricers at the show. Not my personal favorite, but i still appreciate the work that anyone puts into their car to make it look nice. But...some of the cars at this show, did not belong in a show. A good portion of the cars had dull or faded paint, spray painted engine compartments (neon colors), scratches, dents, dirty interiors and a general lack of detailing! There was a Dodge neon whos only mod was huge flame stickers on the sides. There was a mazda Miata whos paint was faded to the point that primer was showing through. There was a Honda with unpainted groud effects. I lost to these cars!
Again, i dont mean to slam anyones car, but come on....I thought i would at least make top 20. Its quite a blow to your ego to loose to cars in this kind of condition! What a bummer!

You need more stickers on your car. I understand they add another 20 to 30 rwhp, ask any of the ricers that were at that show!
I feel your pain but remember you may have lost but you got to go home in an American classic! They got to drive home in their ricers[:'(]

Hey moonbaby, How did you K&N Typhoon fit for you. I did mine about a week ago and it took some work to get it to fit. Also half of the directions were missing. I been thinking of putting mine into a show. It's been about 19 years since I put a car in a show...................around the time I met my wife............. is there a connection..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm anyway, back then I had a 1984 Camaro and the best I did was 2 3rd places.

I notice at car shows these days the more flashy the car the better, the cleaner the worse. I think it should be the opposite though.
For example:
I mean thecaris like a Red and Yellow 1988 Honda Civic!!
