Default Considering a 2006 Roush Stage 1

I currently own a 2003 GT Vert and I'm considering a trade to a 2006 Roush Stage 1. A local car dealer friend of mine brought the pictured car by my place of employment and let me drive it with hopes that I'm interested in trading. I'm wondering what you all think would be a fair price to trade. My car is in excellent condition with 50K miles and the Roush is also excellent with only 8K miles. The Roush has a Hurst shifter and a performance exhaust. It runs great and sounds mean as hell! Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Greg

Yes, it is a great lookin' Stang. Dealer is asking $29K. I know for a fact that he bought it wholesale from another dealer for $26K. Just wondering what kind of difference I should offer to trade my '03 GT Vert?

I wouldnt buy it. If you still like your stang, put a 03 cobra body ki on it some wheels and a s/c. Or if you want a new car, buy a plain 08 gt with just leather, i spent 30k on mine and really is no dierence to one with just leather. But it for 26k , put ina gooood system, rims, roush win, gt500 front bunper, Intake/tune-gears-drag radials and some stripes and your alll good. the mods will cost you about 4grand or less, i will look better than a roush and faster. its like 31.5k vs 50k.

Are you sure that's a Stage I and not a Roush Sport Package? I ask because the Roush wheels are $800 ea with tire and that car you pictured has some cheap bullitts on it.

Go look at a real Roush Stage I......they have Roush embroideredseat covers, carbon fibre dash overlays, Roush signature plaques on the dash, and Roush pistol grip shifter handle. Based on the pictures the car you're thinking of trading for doesn't have anything but a Roush body kit.

Show a picture of the instrument cluster......if it's the same as a GT then you have a Roush body kit on a GT and not a Roush Stage I. Roush has their own instrument clusters.

either way, the dealer will need to provide you with Roush performance direct contact info. the vin numbers are registered with roush performance and a 5 minute call will verify that if it is an actual roush performance car or just a gt with a kit...also ask the dealer for roush authenticity certification paper....if they give you one and the numbers match..then i would call the roush performance service center and verify...(double check)...good luck

Hey Cheft, good to know about those optional features......my bro's Stage I has everything but the 20's and the brake upgrade......I just figured all that stuff was standard. I still doubt that it's a Stage I unless someone sold the standard 18's to make some money on them.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards keeping my '03 GT Convertible. My wife and I bought it because it's a vert and would miss the drop top cruisin'. Besides, it's paid for and I don't want no stinkin' car payments.

Thanks to all for your input.

Greg
