Default Is my dealer lying to me?

I've got an 05 Mustang, v6 manual, and it's been having difficulty shifting lately. Sometimes you really have to struggle to get it into 2nd or 3rd gear.

Took it into the dealer to check it out, and they said it's normal because it's a non-synchro transmission.

Is this BS?

Change your fluids, and LIFT some weights.

It shouldn't be hard to shift. Go to another dealer if possible.

I thought all manualtrannys since like the 70s have had syncros. Otherwise you would have to match road speed to revs everytime you wanted to shift.

If that were the case, do you know how to "double-clutch"? Your dealer is retarded, only reverse is non-synchro(which is why you must be at a full stop in order to engage reverse). My dad use to have an old Chevy truck(40's model) and you'd have to double clutch it, meaning youstep onthe clutch to get trans out of gear(and into neutral), let clutch out, then step on the clutch again to engage the next gear.
In the movie "Bullitt", Steve McQueen is double-clutching the Mustang as he chases the bad guys up that last hill before the expolsion scene.(for sound effect reasons, because synchro type trans have been around since the 50's in mass produced American cars).
Do your difficulties with shifting occur after start up or all the time? Cold tranny fluid would cause some notchiness, but not to the point where you can't shift smoothly. Are you new to driving stick-shift?

They are unfortunatly full of it.
The T5OD 5-speed transmission features:
[*]fifth speed gear functions as an overdrive gear.[*]forward gears are synchronized and helical cut.[*]shift interlock system prevents the engagement of more than one gear.[*]has an aluminum main case, extension housing and bellhousing.[*]has an input shaft, output shaft and countershaft.[*]reverse idler gear is used to produce a reverse rotation of the output shaft.[/ul]

and if you have any difficulty in getting it going they'll probably advise you to put your feet through the floorboards and start running, like Fred Flintstone!
