Not sure if you have noticed but the original red paint will be visible in the indentation around the side and back windows. It is going to be hard to get the new paint color to flow down around the window edges and also keep the paint off the edge of the glass. You may want to remove the windows so you can get the paint to flow smoothly.

Are you going dual exhaust on this car or keeping it single??? If you are keeping the single exhaust then I have a fully polished MAC axleback exhaust with your name on it if you want it. I used it for only a couple of months before I put the GT takeoffs on my car so it is in great shape. Let me know and I will get it boxed up and shipped to ya. Great write up btw, and good luck with the rest of your project.

Buddy,

Try this website....

http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...arch/search.pl

It will give you all the paint codes you can stand...You can search by manufacturer and by year.
1969 was a vibrant year for the stang, With colors like "Anti-Establishment Mint"....No Joke!

this post is already over 14K hits, thats more then some websites get a month lol

I agree with the color issue. People here make there suggestions, and is most likely what they want, but I say go with what YOU and only you want, if u really liked that pink/blue combo but are ashamed to admit it, then I say go for it. Just dont talk to me anymore... lol jk, but seriously do what you really want

Ill throw my vote out again... Grabbar orange with white stripes... Its just such a classic color combo for this stang, it just seems like it would fit a special car really well.

Today while I was at work, Wes cleaned up finished the last of the prep work needed before painting. I drove out when I got off work and he had just begun painting the first coat. We're using Dupont so the first primer is a anti corrosive protectant primer.
He also put some finishing touches on his little water removal system. Some may think he's over doing it but you don't know Wes. He's just getting warmed up.

The primer is a lovey shade of puke green.

The color is not really coming through in the photos but it's pretty bad.

The trunk lid that was once so warped and twisted is looking good. It's going to be bitchin with BigDave's spoiler on there.

Wes practices Tai-Chi while painting to steady his hand and clear the mind.

The hood was never damaged but it's just so nice not to have that horrible green stripe on there anymore.

No more door handles!!!

It was getting late so I'll give you a few parting shots of Wes finishing up the first coat of primer.

Tomorrow is a big day! In the morning Wes will be sanding any problem areas and move on to the filler primer. Then after work I will go out and start sanding it down and get everything perfect. Thursday will be the base coat and clear coat.
I have to stop and pick up the base coat and clear coat during my lunch tomorrw
and......
I've made a decision. I know what color I am going to paint my car. BUT........I'm not going to tell you. Yet.
I thought I'd add a little suspense to the Big Finale.
I think it's going to look great and I'm as so excited that I keep forgetting to order a number of small things I need to even drive this darn thing when we put it all back together.
Stay tuned!
