Finally finished the Motor Mount Install
Well it went alot easier than i expected. The install is pretty straightfoward and there isn't a whole lot of room for error. Basically you jack up the car safely and put jack stands under it. Unbolt all three bolts on the old motor mounts. Then you use another jack ( I used a small craftsman motorcycle lift) and lift the motor like an inch or so. Then all you have to do is unbolt the mount bracket from the motor, and pull out the old mount. Than pretty much put it back together in the reverse order. Just some tips: make sure you have about 2 feet worth of socket extensions they make the job a whole lot easier so you can spin the wrench from above the motor while loosning the mounts. Also one of those "universal joints" is very useful for getting into the tight spots.
I went with the Prothane "Bullet" mounts and they are significantly lighter ( prolly save 5~ pounds or more ), look cooler, and take up less room so there is more clearance for headers and such. The main reason I got the mounts though was to firm up the drivetrain. When you start the car you can definatly feel more vibrations and when you rev it the car rocks back and forth which is pretty cool. When i rev it i feel a little vibrations in the seats, is this normal? Overall I'm very satisfied and would reccomend this mod to anybody as long as they dont mind a little extra vibration. I still havent taken the car on the road but ill be sure to post back and let you guys know how it went. Maybe the 2-3 shift will be a litttle better also. So anybody looking for an inexpensive mod (bout 130$) and have about 2 hours of free time should consider this mod.

I had the same vibration in the seats when reving the engine. I believe it's the exhaust you're feeling. I didn't like the feel so I put the stock mounts back in.
There really isn't much to take pictures of as far as install goes. If you can jack up your car and place it safely on jack stands then you should be able to figure out what needs to be done next with just the instructions included.

I read somewhere that prothane said they are both the same firmness.
ORIGINAL: 06GT4RAD
Prothane makes a Red Bushing Version that is suppose to be a bit more cushiony than the Black Version.
Is cushiony even a freakin word?

OK well finally took it for a test drive. I must say it feels great! you only get a little extra vibration at startup and if you bog the motor at 1500 rpms ish. the MGW shifter with the stronger return springs brings you from second ready to go into third and the motor mounts help it slide effortlessly into gear. I highly reccomend this for people having trouble getting into 3rd power shifting.
