I've heard that the actual gains on this setup are less than 10hp, its s big investment for 10hp or less, unless you just like that style.

I have also been considering the shaker for a while and decide I would go with a body shop to cut the hole. Only problem has been that all the body shops I have called in my area only do painting and repair - they sounded confused when I asked them to cut a hole in my hood... I gave up for a while but I guess I could talk to someone at a shop and ask if they would do it in their spare time. Good luck though - I personally think it looks great on our cars, regardless of the hp. I am dedinitely going to do it when I find someone to cut the hole.

I was actually thinking of going to a body shop

I'd love a Shaker for my ride, even a non functional [Rice-esque] version but being S/C'd it's not going to happen. I think they look awesome

Go for it, if it works out I'll be next !

You know, a shaker system which only directs fresh air over the top of a blower would be good enough, they are real heat hogs !!

Not without a lot of modification. Additionally you'd be throwing away quite a bit of the unneccesary kit parts.
I can't see anyone making a modified kit anytime soon, there are too many differing S/C's out there.
