Default Vert worth it? Topless or not

I have been reading alot of threads on this forum, some very good info. For anyone thats had a vert, is it worth the xtra coin? I really like the black vert, but the safety thing kinda worries me for a rollover. I'm like 6'2, not sure if I can duck under it like the other guy who wrecked his did.

Anyway would like some opinions on the vert GT. I test drove one and dirt was flying in my eyes. But the car was sitting waaaaay back in the sold lot caked in dirt. He said it was black, i said i dont think so. Was tungsten or something, just filthy though. Brand new at like $36,000, I lol'ed at that price.

I'm very happy with my convertible - nothing better than a warm day and the top down. As far as performance, a convertible can be very quick but the coupe does have an advantage.

mine's not a DD...but there is noting better on a nice day..... for performance.... the motor in the vert acts just the same..... 175lbs heavier so a tad slower... .easily sovled with a power adder.... mine should be a low 12 sec car!

as for safty... if your really concerred you could add a roll bar....

BTW...For most cars, the chance of rollover in an accident is less than 10%

Davey, you don't sound like you really want the vert in your writing, plus if dirt in your eyes and rollovers are a concern just go for the coupe. Also, depending upon where you live, you may not use it enough to justify the cost.

As someone else here put it once, it's the ultimate accessory. Ford did this convertible right, from looks to ease of use, it was designed into the car from the start and not an afterthought. Plus for me, since I don't ride motorcycles anymore after a horrific crash four years ago, it's the closest I can get to that feeling of freedom and still keeping 4 wheels on the ground.

Convertibles are always worth it. Plus, they have a higher resale value...not that you'll ever wanna sell it. As far as rollovers are concerned, if you can flip this car over, you doing something really bad and shouldn't be driving at all!!

Verts always cost more. Whether it is worth it is up to you to decide.
