I had mine done in June and have zero scratches so far.
WhenI was telling the dude about this issue hewas baffled; he said he does a ton of new Mustangs and has never had a single problem.
Who knows, maybe it is the tint that he uses.

He told me ifI ever have a problem to buy the moleskin and bring it to him; he will put it on and replace the tint for free.
He only charged me $135 for 35% all the way around and did an awesome job; so if you are near Richmond, VA and want some tint, drop me a PM andI will give you his info.

My GT was already tinted by the dealer when I bought it. (I told them I wouldn't pay for it since I wouldn't have asked for it.) But it's been pretty bulletproof so far. No problems.

I used moleskin the first time. Installed it myself, it was easy. Mine have been tinted for 6 months I'd guess with constant rolling up and down with no scratches.

I'm coming in at the end here... but where does the moleskin/felt apply to? What is the overall premiss here? (Iunderstand felt won't scratch the film but where is this applied?)

You remove the window channel (long rubber piece) from the door and apply the moleskin to the side of the channel that wipes against the inside of your window when you put it up or down. There's nothing there but rubber straight from the factory so if dirt or grime of any kind settles on that rubber piece, when you roll your window down it willpossibly scratch any window tint you have and even possibly scratch the glass of your window if it's severe enough.

If you do a search here for 'moleskin' or 'window tint' there's tons of threads detailing people's experiences with it, without it and even a thread as a sticky here on this board of TacoBill's tutorials that gives DETAILED instructions and videos on exactly how to install the moleskin. It's not hard or time consuming to install.
