Saleen S/C Owners - Numbers
I'm doing an install and I'm stuck between the 3.6" and the 3.4" pulley. Looking for info and advice:
Info
[ul][*]What pulley do you have, what boost does that produce at peak, RWHP/RWTQ, A/F, total timing and measured on what (dynojet vs. mustang).[*]Do you run the same tune on the street that your dyno numbers come from? In other words, did you put out some nice numbers on the dyno for bragging rights then de-tune for safety?[*]What additional gear are you running (e.g. BAP, Dual GT 40 pumps, etc.).[*]Hey, if you've got 1/4 mile times..... [/ul]
Advice
[ul][*]What should I look out for with runningthe 3.4"?[*]Anything else I should be getting/not getting, doing/not doing?[*]If you did things over again would you go with a different S/C (or turbo)?[/ul]
Thanks!

I have a 3.4" pulley and I was on the JDM tune until 5 months ago, then I went with a custom tune.
Things to do.
If you run a 3.4" pulley get a twin fuel pump or at least a KB BAP for safety of not running lean.
Get at least 39# injectors
Get after marke CAI MAF and Inlet tubing
Get a tune from a trusted shop for driveability, they will most likely add 1-2 more degrees of timing and adjust for your specific mods that a mail order tune will not provide.
Get CA's for wheel hop
Get wider tires to hook and plant the power to the ground more efficiently.
the numbers in my sig were on a Dynojet temp outside was 60* and I was running the 100 octane racetune. I have 2 degrees pulled out of that for a 91 octane tune and I am estimated about 14-15RWHP less than my sig as a result.

[ul][*]3.4" pulley. Will hit 10psi at WOT in the upper RPMs. 500.9/469.7 on a dynojet on a 90 degree day. a/f 11.2 ~ 11.5 at WOT. 17 degrees of max timing on 93 octaine pump gas.[*]I only have one tune. No sense in not running it in street trim. After all, it is a street car, not a track car.[*]Running 39lb Cobra injectors, GT Supercar pump, KB 40amp BAP.[*]Mid-high 11s, 11.7s on an average day, with a driver mod and maybe a little more suspension work it could do 11.5s[/ul]
Advice
[ul][*]Might watch out for belt slip. Some people have it, some don't. If you do you might consider a V10 water pump pulley, or an 8 rib kit.[*]If you don't have a wideband, get one. It will be your best friend. Headers are a good idea also. Nice to be able to get all that pressure out that you are pushing in. Make damn sure you have 100% confidence in your tuner.[*]I don't think I would do a different SC. If I were to do it all over again the only thing I might consider is a twin turbo setup. [/ul]
Good luck with it. Go for the 3.4" now and save yourself the cost of upgrading the pulley in a month. Also if you haven't done it already, invest in lower control arms and descent rear tires.

what Doc said 100%....he gave me the same advice about the 3.4 pulley and I did not listen.[].instead i bought the 3.8....then went to the 3.6...now I want the 3.4....lol..go for it....everyone already advised on what else to get and I agree..so I will not add my 2 cents except that I too would not change to a different SC if I were to decide again....my numbers below are with 3.6 pulley. and the other mods inc headers etc. I am getting 8 psi max boost....avg is 7-7.5

Saleen extreme intake tube
3.6" pulley
39lb inj
HT0 plugs
JDM tune
=422rwhp, 401 tqe through the auto.
This is a conservative tune and can support a 3.4" pulley without retuning. I would likely need a BAP or new pumps to go to the 3.4". So far I'm happy, and I'm at my limit of traction with my G-Force's. I'm done with mods for this year and plan on running the car at JDM day on Nov 9th, so we'll see about ET's. My winter project will be to install a 2800 stall converter from ProTorque and Amsoil tranny fluid. I'm putting off upping the boost for last. Got to get my tranny in shape first.

RE: Saleen S/C Owners - Numbers
Initial numbers are in: 431 RWHP / 401 RWTQ on a dynojet. This is with Brenspeed's "Stage 3" kit which is a lot like JDM's "Stage 2".
I don't have dyno sheets yet so I can't answer all the other good questions like RPM? A/F? Timing? etc. I'm in Las Vegas this week and the car is in Pierceton, Indiana. I'll post up again after picking the car up this weekend if anyone here is interested.
Seems a little low for a 3.4" but I did ask Dave/Brent to go easy as this is my DD (otherwise I'm walking here).
Can't wait baby.
