the mach is not forged and neither is the marauder. the cobra is since it is built for forced induction. if you want that kind of power i suggest your forge your internals (ie. rods, crank, etc.) but a stock 05 gt with a kb will still have about low 400ish hp to the flywheel at a very conservative 7-8 psi.
but to answer the first question the mach is the faster car. it's dohc heads breathe a lot better than the 05 gt heads. and at this point can be modded much more easily.
The 5-spd Mach 1 motor has a forged crank, the automatic version has a cast crank.

All the engine details are nice. However, as I consider the mod for my 05. But, I can't ignore my 5spd. tranny. Is this new to the tang platform?? Wonder what kind of power it can live under ??

If I am facing a complete drivetrain redo, then maybe it is cheaper to go Saleen, etc. I will do the labor myself. In the middle of my second Harley redo, and built the 440 cu.in. big block for my 72 Duster (it lived to 6200 rpm, on several occassions. If I don't have to go the shop labor, maybe I can do a killer 05 for 10-12K ??
The 5-spd manual tranny in the '05 Mustang is a carryover Tremec TR3650, the same tranny that was in the '02-'04 GT's and the Mach 1's. The 5-spd automatic in the '05 Mustangs is new to the platform, but I think it's been used in the Lincolns, T-birds, and some models of trucks.

Horse power is great if you can keep it on the ground. I took out a 04 M1 by almost 2 car lenghts 3 times. My friend is getting frustrated.

The snorkel filter is designed to be another emissions device. It is fine to take it out but without a tune you will lose power. I have read that numerous times in many mags, and seen it on many websites.

like i posted here earlier. i watched the guy take that filter out and it gained almost 10HP. they didn't do any tuning that day on any of our cars. it was just dyno runs.
