As far as headers, I recommend spending the extra $ for long tubes.

but wouldn't you say the LTs prolly aren't worth the money (esp if you're paying someone to install them) unless you're FI?

since it takes FI to snap a rod, might as well get the twin screws over with now...then when you're staring at a dime-sized hole in your block courtesy of a 500HP whipple kit, do the heads+cams etc

On ebay there are some good shotry headers in 304 SS. I have FI and dont plan on getting LT but wanted a better looking header than the cast iron ones we have now. I was told the shorties wew have now are cast with a header like design and work very well with the 3V. I am doing this only for the looks and not the gains so ask yourself if it is worth it to you or not. Very hard install for most regardless if LT or short and that means labor costs in the hundreds of dollars (not sure how much). The shorty headers are made by C.A.M. ...hope it helps

FRPP shorty headers are very easy to install. I have said this in another post. Al that needs to be moved to put those in is the starter on the right and the steering shaft disconnected and moved over. I, however used the BBK headers because they had a thicker flange and appeared better made. BBK's and long tubes require a lift to do them, since the engine has to be jack up about 1.5" and moved to the left to get the right side header in place.

A person with minimal tools could replace the stock manifolds with FRPP headers in your driveway using a pair of ramps. Its harder getting the front O2 sensor disconnected/connected on the right side than anything else.
