With my mods in signature (most notably the 4.10s) I was able to get between 25-26mpg with cruise control set on 60 mph once.

This required adelicate balance ofmany things, because as soon as any of the following conditions weren't met my mpg suffered greatly:

1) Completely/nearly flat road
2) No traffic
3) No stop lights
4) No significant turns or merges that require breaking.

Basically once you set cruise, you can't hit the accelerator, which is unrealistic unless you make a deliberate action out of it.

25-26 is my number. I think if it were more aero it would improve but thats about all it will do.
Not bad for a V8 performance ride.

All this talk about what your computer says atone specific point in time is garbage. Guys will post what they get when they reset their average mpg reading while going downhill with a stiff tailwind. If you want to impress anyone, post the numbers you get when you HAND calculate your MPG at every fill-up and average it out over a number of fill-ups. Fill-up to fill-up readings themselves can be skewed for various reasons, hence the need to average it over time.

I keep a monthly planner in each car and log my info at every fill-up plus log any maintenance I do. Once or twice a month I'll bring the planner in the house or in to work and calculate my mileage and look things over. It's interesting the trends you might pick up on over periods oftime. Yeah, sort of **** but, hell, I'm an engineer...

I must be lucky because I can set my cruise and not have to touch the brake or accel for 25+ miles on the way to work.
