If you want to hear the difference between the 500 and 1000 systemI suggest you put an "Urban" cd in it....

Actually the speaker in the door is a woofer not a subwoofer there is a difference. Its set up like a component system. I believe the shaker 1000 has a sub in the trunk. Not sure though mines just a 500.

Shaker is ON. But no sound trough the door woofers.

Under the hood I can check
- fuse 6 (shaker 1000 radio)
- fuse 9 (shaker 1000 amp)
- fuse 16(shaker 500) - does this one exist? in a shaker1000?
Do I need to check for more fuses then these mentioned above?

Well that was also my guess. But I don't know what fuses to check.

What others do I need to check?

Can you tell me where the one is on the passenger compartment? This because I don't understand what "kick panel" is (yeah my language is not English, in the case you should haven't noticed )

Don't worry, your English is better than most of the English typed out on these forums.

Fuse 16 under the hood should be the one you need. It's in the lower right corner. If its "doesn't exist" it should. Put a 30amp in there. That fuse goes to the 2 small amps to the speakers you're talking about.

Don't you have 4 speakers? 2 built-in and 2 that are coming out of the door?

Let me try to explain witch once.

Check this picture: http://pjdeweirdt.desneppe.be:8080/speakers.gif
The round once are the once that are not working. The once built-in (on top) are working fine.

Ok guys,

Good and Bad news:
First I checked the fuse 16: This one seems to be fine I measured the fuse and the current is going trough (measured with Ohm meter)
The bad new is that when I unplug the fuse and then turn on the radio then there is no difference like there is with a fuse.

I swapped the fuse 7 (left power window) with the 16 and same result. Speakers in front (round once) are not working.

Who can give me another suggestion?

Any chance the speakers are unplugged? Youhave toremove the door panel to check.
Also, I set the HPF on my aftermarket headunit to 100Hz and don't hear any sound from those speakers unless it's pretty harsh bass...not sure if you can do that with the stock Shaker 1000??

deweirdt, if you want i can email you the
audio system trouble shooting manual (415-00-23).

it is very detailed and has measuring points.

basically, if all your fuses are good....
a) subwoofer amps
b) wiring between subwoofer amps and speakers
c) speakers
