Default Will warranty cover stone chip in windshield?

Yes 650 miles later took a small rock to the windshield, before I call the insurance company I was wondering if the warranty will cover a penny sized chip in the windshield?

Uh, probably not, since it was due to outside damage, rather than due to a defect in the car. That would be like the warranty covering door dings. Nice to dream about, but unlikely!

If your deductible is low enough to make it worthwhile, your insurance company should cover it.

Yeah I figured tha, I read the warranty and under NOT-COVERED is objects striking vehicle, I hate rocks! I bought a 96 Vette a couple years ago and on the first day I had the exact same thing happen, the new windshield they put in was perfect though so I will call them tomorrow, if I remember right it was covered 100% by my insurance. I want an OEM windhsield too, no aftermarket glass!

I know how you feel bro. I got under 5k on mine and have a crack clear to the passenger side of the windshield. I had just a little starburst crack for about 1 month then on Friday it spread completely across.[:@]

What is it with the Mustangs and the windshields? Seems like they attract rocks. I have an 02 Mustang and had the windshield replaced 3 times so far. Now I have a chip and a real small star. I am trying to wait until I trade-in the car on to my 05 Mustang GT. So far, it has held up and is not spreading.

Had to dodge a rock tossin flatbed trailer in tow on the Interstate last week. No cracks, whew !!

The only warranty windshield I would expect they would replace would be a crack, that didn't have an impact star. Some windows can crack under the stress of being installed in a bind, unlikely for sure.

Road hazards are no doubt out for the manufacturer
