Dude.....your missing the most importnant thing in your car apparently, the blender, because you must be drinking a lot!!! WTF, I'm actually surprised that you have only replaced the alternator twice, it should have been more like every oil change.
Is this what your house looks like? Be honest now......

Buy a bigger pump instead of a bigger bucket.
The alternator produces the amps and the battery
just stores them for start-up and key-off stereo usage.
Yellow tops by themselfs will wear out faster when used
for engine starting unlike the red top which is designed
for the heavy amp draw while starting. The yellow top
is for low amperage draw over a long period of time and
wont hold up to the demands of starting the engine.

However, the OP said they were wondering if they should have a Red Top battery, if I understand correctly...Well, the Red Top WOULD work...But will probably die down if the alternator's dying consistently. Depending on what the OP has done to his car, he might need to upgrade his alternator (and thusly void his warranty on any electrical system problems) to a high performance alternator.

just my 2 cents - i bought a yellow top, put it in a 02 RSX with 4 12s and 4 seperateMTX amps, for a year and change, sold the car, kept the battery. Then i put the same battery in an Isuzu Rodeo for a year and change, sold the car, kept the battery, But wait... there's more! Bought a 01 stratus R/T... yup you guessed it. i put the same yellow top back in the stratus. Sold the stratus October of 2007. Never had one battery problem in any car.

However, I STILL have faith in Optimas...I've got one in my Corvette that kicked the car over the last time we started it, and it'd been sitting for 6 months (granted, it had the battery disconnected, but it was still sitting for 6 months!)

Sounds like aftermarket alternater time! Your battery is fine and upgrade to a 200 AMP alternator and that should fix your problem. If running your radio and lights with the car's motor not running you might want a second battery for the trunk and maybe some lightening caps for every amp supplying bass to your ride. JMO J

You'll need a 'Battery Isolator' to let the alternator charge both batteries without letting one drain the other. Check at an RV store...or order one online. Make sure the isolator is rated at least as high as your alternator and use sufficient cable gauge. www.jcwhitneyonline.com has some in the $30 range. I run 00 guage from the altrnator to the chassis, and 00 guage to the yellowtop. Then I run another - and + 00 guage back to the trunk for my redtop.
