Any tips to installing a new steering wheel?
I'm getting my GT500 steering wheel tomorrow and besides disabling the negative battery (duh), what else should I be aware of? I also disconnected the battery 24 hours in advance...just to be sure haha

There's nothing to it. Make sure the wheel is centered before you start. You release the airbag module by popping off those plastic caps on the side of the steering column and taking those bolts out. Then disconnect it and move it out of the way and you'll see only other bolt you have to take out. You'll need a steering wheel/gear puller. It will take you about five minutes to do the whole thing.

I did see a detailed write up somewhere because I was seriously considering that steering wheel. After looking and looking (and not actually having a GT500 in front of me to compare) I gave up the idea because the wheel really doesn't look any different than the stock one other than the thumb grips.
Puhleeese let me know if you like the new wheel and if it's any smaller, more ergonomic, etc. I'm sure there are a lot of other guys on this forum that would also like to know. If you could, start a new thread after you have it installed with your views on it.

I always turn on the headlight switch to get rid of any residual current.
