Mine had bubbles under the front edge of the hood...they repainted it, under warranty.

Ford wouldn't touch my hood when the paint started to act up. 4 different dealers in 3 different states. Bull if you ask me. But o'well...
The paint coverage isexplained in the warranty book you got with your car, and any defects in "factory" paint and stripes is covered. If you, not the factory or dealer, added hood pins or painted/vinyl stripes, then it is not covered. If your car wasn't covered, this is the reason why. I suggest you read your manuals that came with your car.

Same here...
My stock hood is tucked away, so out of contamination.

I talked to Ford at SEMA about that. Especially the front edge where the top skin overlaps the brace.
They sayit's a bad prep proplembefore dipping it in theetch solution[&:].
Don't know if I buy that but it would make sense since the hoods are handled manually at the factory because magnets cups don't stick to aluminum.

I would love to go to the plants at Fordand see for myself...

Mine started long before the shaker or the pins. The stripes are vinyl so they can't blame it on that. But car is long out of warranty now, so in about 2 weeks I will get it all taken care of.

Yea fiberglass is the way to go. Alunimum is prone to exfoliation type corrosion.

If not contaminated, it will last a while.
F150s don't have that problem. Very few cases.

Exactly and they use an aluminum hood as well.
