What should an 06 GT manual completely stock run in the quarter mile? 13.5? 13.6? What have you guys seen? What about with just a CAI W/ tune and axle back exhaust? What kind of times are you guys getting with these mods? Just really curious to what kind of power this can give an 06 GT. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Really it all depends on conditions and the driver. A newbie with a bone stock gt would probably run low 14's where there have been reports on here of experienced drivers pulling off low - mid 13's in optimal conditions. I would say Under perfect conditions with a good launch a mid 13 is certainly possible. Axle backs do absolutely nothing in terms of power for these cars, because they are simply that, axle back mufflers. While the stock exhaust on these cars are relatively un restrictive there is room to improve. An offroad X pipe will net you some ponys, so will some headers.

A tune+ cai combo is good for 15-35 hp depending on type and octane.. 25 rwhp is a good bet on a 91/93 tune. Probably good for a tenth in the quarter mile, it will improve driveability significantly (no more throttle lag)

Traction is an issue on these cars and with slicks\ drag radials, some lca's and a tune low 13's are possible...

Another mod to consider, 1 piece driveshaft (minimal rwhp gain but definately a tenth or two in the 1/4 mile)

Depending on how well you can drive a stick you should get somewhere in the mid to high 13's. The CAI and the tune will help a little but the exaust wont help at all. The Tune and CAI might drop you 1/10 of a seccond if that. It also depends on which tune you are running. But stock you should be in the high 13's with a decent driver. Remember when magazines show times of 13.5 thats with a pro driver. Just FYI. But with just a few mods (UD pulleys, CMCV deletes, 4.10's, etc...) you can get into the 12's and still be a daily driver... All those mods are pretty cheap too compared to other cars. Just something to think about...

I thought the CAI and a tune would get you more than a 10th of a second, just by the way everyone raves about CAI+tune? It seems like that is the number one thing everyone can tell such a big difference in power from. Am I wrong about that?

You can tell a big difference. The biggest thing is the throttle lag. When you hit the gas on a stock mustang it takes a seccond to go so you cant just tap it. Its really annoying, so the tune takes it out. But yea, 1/10th of a seccond for 600 dollars is pretty good I would say. Trust me, you will notice the difference

The tune is a must. I am gettin mine soon, After having driven a car with a tune all i can say is it is how it should have came from the factory. It will make the car feel much more responsive (faster) In all driving situations...

1-2 tenths is a big gain. It may not sounnd like much, but for $600 its well worth it... With other cars people spend $400 on an intake and tune and gain 5-10, if that....

FOr an N\A car, our cars respond very well to mods, and those mods are downright cheap in comparison to others. (Try paying for a tune and intake on a bmw.)

1/10??????? What are you guys smoking? 0.4 -0.5 seconds.
As much from the elimination of the torque management as the hp gain.
If you have not learned to "drive around" the torque management. IE slip clutch for 30' (to avoid bog) and
"Breathe" the throttle 30% on Powershifts to avoid TB closing you may gain more.

The following are my results. If you are 180 lb you should be a good 1/10 faster than these times.

3700 lb with Stock Pirellis
Full Weight including 280 lb Driver.

In really great air:
2.031 13.49 @ 103.31 (On Limiter) Stock (-1253' DA)
2.017 12.97 @ 107.09 CAI/Tune (-658' DA)
Unfortunately tracks tend to be slick when the air is good.

In just decent air:
1.958 13.537 @ 102.11 (DA +1285') Stock
1.895 13.085 @ 104.95 (DA +944') CAI/Tune

PS The consensus is that the Axle-Back is for sound only and doesnt really add any power.

With just my CAI and tune onstock tires, I have ran a 12.87, two 12.89s, a 12.90, a 12.93, and a 12.95 all around 106.8-107.4 mph. Justin from VMP witnessed my 12.90 run. I once trapped 108.03 on a 13.1 run. No weight reduction, 180 lb driver.
