Default Crap, my speedometer reads too high...

So after driving the Mustang today I realized that I needed to go about 90mph to keep pace with the left lane. Now, I drove this road all the time and the flow of traffic was never ever 90mph. 85 tops, and that's rare. So I think... hmm maybe the speedometer is reading too high?

So I get my dad to take his car and do a cruise at 50mph and then at 80mph. At 50mph, the speedometer seems to be fine, but when he's doing 80 I need to go like 87-90 to keep pace. So apparently it only reads high at certain speeds?

Any of you guys have this problem before? Any way for me to fix this without taking it to the dealer. I dont mind taking it to the dealer as it's under warranty but I'd rather be able to do it myself. Also, do you think that the speedometer reading wrong also means that my odometer/mileage calculator etc is reading off as well?

I'm running a completey stock auto 06 GT btw.

Hmm they did nothing? That's not good service man. I'd tolerate a small difference but reading 90mph at 80 is way too much!

I got the stock 17's with the Pirelli's. Inflated to 32 psi. Standard gearing as well. It's more strange that it doesn't always read high like 50mph, just at much higher speeds.

No, but you want that fixed, cause if your speedo is to high then you are adding extra miles as well, so yes it is something to be concerned about!!!

My speedo reads a few MPH higher than actual speed too, the bigger difference at higher speeds.
