I used to use Castrol Synthetic and a fram filter. It cost me well over 40 bucks to do it myself.

The other week, I let the dealer change my oil. The price of the motorcraft oil filter, there semi synthetic whatever oil and labor was only 28 bucks. From now on, Im having the dealer do it.

ORIGINAL: one eyed *****

yeah,i will probably do mobil 1,its what i have always used until i did the royal purple. i wont use a fram filter, heard ALOT of bad things about them, either k&n or mobil 1 probably.

wanted to know if there was anything else out there to consider for our cars and if anything new was out.
We have used Fram on all of our vehicles with no problems. 98 F150 over 200k miles, 99 Taurus 130k miles, 2004 F150 45k miles, and now the stang. Not sure if someone had a bad experience but everyone in our family uses them no problem.

just changed mine on my 08 gt yesterday i went with mobil 1 and a mobil premium filter, had to go back and get another quart,it holds 6 quarts guess i should have checked the owners manual first also went with 5w20 and a k+n air filter, heckof alot easier then a cold air kit imo

I am just saying it is not worth it to spend extra money on fram, K&N, mobil 1 etc. when the ford reccomended motorcraft is just as good, if not better.

Until my dealership stops sending me the $9.95 oil and filter change, i will use them. After that, it will beMobil 1 and Motorcraft filter.

I use Mobil1 filter and Motorcraft 5w20 part synthetic. Google oil filter comparisions. There are some out there that say the Mobil1 and K&N are the best.
